  • Spotify has launched a new section for DJ mixes. The new section launched in the first week of October with new mixes by artists like Adam Beyer and Noisia, alongside existing mix content within the Spotify catalogue. The service is currently available in eight markets: the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. In an official statement, Spotify said it expects the list of territories to expand in the near future. The move, which follows a similar announcement by Apple Music in September, represents a potential new revenue stream for creatives. Spotify has been under increasing scrutiny recently as questions begin to be raised regarding the wider streaming model. A recent UK study found that only 0.4 percent of artists make a living from streaming alone. Listen to Beyer's mix, and browse the rest of the mixes here. Photo: Feliphe Schiarolli
